Welcome to The Meadows Chapter NSDAR

Springs_Preserve_garden_plants-2The Meadows Chapter NSDAR in Las Vegas, Nevada, was organized on June 22, 2015, by Regent Sally Ann Kinley, with 24 original members. By our first birthday, our membership had 42 members, with a large number of those submitting first-time applications to DAR and joining as new members. Our chapter name, The Meadows, is a direct translation from the Spanish, “Las Vegas,” reflecting the beauty of our valley.

Our chapter members range from age 18 to over 90 years old, each with a great sense of pride in the contributions our ancestors made as patriots in the American Revolutionary War. In our first year, we are proud to have been recognized by the Nevada State Society for the following; the Outstanding Nevada State Society Junior, volunteer hours served, the number of new members approved, support for DAR programs, public service projects, and various other certificates of award.

Genealogical research is a strong focus of our chapter: one member has published five genealogical books, several others have completed significant research for their own families and others, and we have several DAR trained genealogists who are willing to support our members and provide assistance to prospective members. Most of all, our chapter members value each other and the friendships we have created through DAR.

Our chapter currently has over 50 active members, including 10 Juniors. We are also assisting a number of prospective members with their DAR membership applications. New members are welcome. For further information please contact our chapter registrar.
